Wellll so yeah! I got invited by Jun Jie to his social night to be his date. Some occasion where by officers head off to different places from their friends in the company? I think theirs was air force? So they'll have this event to celebrate? I guess? Idk it's very confusing.
SO It was my first time being invited for such events and i actually have secretly always wanted to attend such occasions. HAHAHA. I was initially super nervous before the event because i didn't know anyone else there, and i was afraid i was too under-dressed, and i didn't know what to expect at all. Very thankfully, my sister was there as well because she was invited by her boyfriend and her boyfriend and Jun Jie was in the same company or smth like that. So their social night was held on the same day. Phew. If not i would've been super awkward and scared and everything else i cannot think of.
Anyway, on that day itself, my sister and i got dressed and ready, and Edmund (her boyfriend) and Jun Jie took a cab down to pick us up. We headed straight to the venue - Grassroot Club. And then Jun Jie passed me the bouquet of flowers. OMG HAHAHA. Okay like it was pretty unexpected but, most of the girls there had flowers in their hands as well. Apparently according to my sister, it's a tradition? It was my first bouquet of flowers i've received in my 18+ years!! So i very happy.
ANW the place was (kinda) filled with gorgeous looking girls and good-looking guys. I felt so overwhelmed i swear. Like i think i looked soooo erm.. meh....
Well, we were seated at a dining table. And after like a video montage, and a speech by their commander(? idk), we started eating and all that. In between, there were like performances by their different flights. Quite entertaining. I made small talks with some of the girls there, and yeah i realised that i was the youngest of my whole table hahhaha.
Overall, I wouldn't say the event was what i'd expected it to be, but it was still quite an eye-opener. I'm actually happy that i got a chance to attend such events!! I mean, who knows whether i could be invited again right?
